The pitch is simple: pay now, get into GTA 6 before everyone else. The problem is that Rockstar has not announced a playable early access program for Grand Theft Auto VI.

Rockstar is offering pre-orders. It is not selling secret early access downloads.

How the Fake GTA VI Early Access Scam Works

According to Malwarebytes, the scam pages are built to look premium. They use neon artwork, GTA 6 branding, luxury cars, and polished design to make the offer feel exclusive.

Some pages claim to offer “VIP Digital Access” or an “Exclusive Early Access Preview.” Malwarebytes said one example charged $250 and accepted only cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin, USDT, or Ethereum.

That payment method is the giant red flag with a siren duct-taped to it.

Crypto payments are difficult or impossible to reverse once sent. That means victims usually cannot request a normal chargeback if the download never appears. After payment, the scam may ask users to enter a transaction ID to unlock the download, but there is no real game waiting on the other side.

GTA 6 is exactly the kind of game scammers love using as bait. It has massive mainstream attention, a long wait between releases, and a fanbase hungry for every new screenshot, trailer, leak, and storefront update.
