The Rockstar GTA 6 price has become one of the biggest talking points ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI’s release, especially after months of rumors about how much Rockstar’s next massive open-world game could cost. With pre-orders now approaching, players are watching closely to see where GTA 6 lands compared to the usual $69.99 AAA price point.
The good news is that Rockstar has finally cleared up the pricing situation. There is still a premium price attached to GTA 6, but the details are more specific than the early $100 rumors made them sound.
How Much Will GTA 6 Cost?
GTA 6 will cost $79.99 for the standard edition on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Ultimate Edition will cost $99.99 and includes extra digital content tied to Jason and Lucia’s story.
The standard edition includes the main single-player GTA 6 experience. Rockstar describes the game as the biggest and most immersive entry in the Grand Theft Auto series yet, which is exactly the kind of phrasing you expect when a publisher asks players for an extra ten bucks at checkout.
The Ultimate Edition adds premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and other in-game content. It is aimed at players who already know they are going full goblin mode on launch week.
Is GTA 6 Really $100?
GTA 6 is only $100 if players buy the Ultimate Edition. The standard version is $79.99.
That still makes GTA 6 one of the most expensive standard editions for a major modern game. Most large AAA releases have hovered around $69.99 in recent years, so Rockstar’s $79.99 price lands above the usual ceiling.
It also gives the industry a clean test case. If GTA 6 sells like everyone expects, other major publishers will absolutely be watching. They will not say that part loudly, because marketing departments enjoy pretending math is a forbidden art.
What Comes With a GTA 6 Pre-Order?
Players who pre-order GTA 6, or buy it before November 20, 2026, will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack. That bonus includes retro-themed in-game items inspired by GTA: Vice City, including a classic vehicle, outfits, hairstyles, and a weapon skin.
Digital pre-orders also include one free month of GTA+, Rockstar’s paid membership service.
When Does GTA 6 Release?
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders open on June 25, 2026, at midnight local time.
Rockstar has not confirmed a PC version for launch, so PC players are still stuck in the waiting room with bad fluorescent lighting.
