Phasmophobia v0.18.0.1 Patch Notes Review

Kinetic Games has released a focused hotfix after players reported problems following last week’s Phasmophobia update.

Phasmophobia update v0.18.0.1 is now available across supported platforms. The smaller patch does not introduce new content, but it addresses several bugs that appeared or became more noticeable after the previous update.

The fixes cover multiplayer equipment, Photo Camera behavior, VR performance, challenge progress, hiding spots, and missing cosmetics. Kinetic Games has also acknowledged a remaining hotkey issue that will be addressed in another patch.

Phasmophobia v0.18.0.1 Fixes Missing Twitch Drop Rewards

The new Phasmophobia update fixes an issue that caused earned Twitch Drop ID Card and Badge cosmetics to disappear or remain unavailable in-game.

Players who already claimed an eligible reward should update and restart Phasmophobia before checking their cosmetics again. The patch notes do not say that players need to repeat the original watch requirement or reclaim the reward through Twitch.

Since the latest Twitch campaign ends on July 28, players should still verify that their rewards show as claimed in their Twitch inventory before the campaign closes.

Apocalypse Challenge Videos Should Count Again

Videos showing a Hunting Ghost should now count toward the Apocalypse challenge.

Before the update, players could capture the required footage without receiving challenge progress. That made an already difficult challenge even more frustrating, especially for players attempting it under its intended restrictions.

Kinetic Games specifically lists Hunting Ghost videos among the corrected issues in v0.18.0.1.

Ghosts Can No Longer Enter Several Hiding Spots

The patch fixes several hiding spots that ghosts could incorrectly enter during hunts.

The affected locations include:

  • 13 Willow Street
  • 6 Tanglewood Drive
  • 42 Edgefield Road
  • 10 Ridgeview Court

Players hiding in these areas should no longer be caught because a ghost passed into a space that was meant to provide protection. However, normal hiding rules still apply, including managing electronic equipment, noise, and line of sight.

Multiplayer Items and Photo Cameras Receive Fixes

Dropped equipment should no longer become stuck or fall through the floor during multiplayer investigations.

Kinetic Games also corrected several Photo Camera problems. The camera should no longer interfere with another player’s animations, and its use animation should display properly in multiplayer.

Additional fixes stop the Photo Camera from taking unintended pictures after being dropped or picked up while another player was using it.

The update also fixes an Incense display issue. Used Incense could previously appear unused when its animation was interrupted by opening the Journal.

Phasmophobia VR Performance Improvements

Phasmophobia v0.18.0.1 contains two VR-specific fixes.

The first addresses unstable frame rates while players are inside the investigation truck. The second prevents VR players from becoming stuck while loading into a multiplayer game on Bleasdale Farmhouse.

These are targeted corrections rather than a wider VR performance overhaul, but both should remove problems that could interrupt an investigation before players entered the building.

One Equipment Hotkey Problem Remains

Kinetic Games has confirmed that equipment hotkeys may still be assigned in the wrong order.

Without a Flashlight, items can be assigned to keys 2, 3, and 1. Picking up a Flashlight causes it to default to key 1. A future patch will change equipment so it follows the order in which items are collected, while Igniters will continue using key 4.

Phasmophobia v0.18.0.1 is mainly a cleanup update, but it addresses several issues that directly affected investigations, rewards, and challenge progress. Players experiencing any of the listed problems should install the update before starting their next contract.
