The next new Killer coming to DBD already has a confirmed release date. Behaviour Interactive has also revealed the next Survivor and the Chapter they will arrive in.
However, this is not another licensed horror icon like Jason Voorhees. Dead by Daylight’s next Killer comes from one of the game’s most unusual Chapters. Behaviour developed it through community voting and player input.
When is the New Killer Coming to Dead by Daylight?

The next new Killer comes to DBD on August 25, 2026. The Judgment will arrive alongside the Chorus of Sin Chapter.
Behaviour calls Chorus of Sin the first community-created Chapter in Dead by Daylight. It also introduces Aurora, a spiritual scientist from a ruined world, as the new Survivor.
The Judgment brings a divine horror theme to the Fog. Its story focuses on punishment, heresy, and cleansing sin. As a result, Chorus of Sin feels very different from recent crossovers such as Jason, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and Tokyo Ghoul.
Who is the New Killer in DBD?
The new DBD Killer is The Judgment, an original character created through the community-driven Chapter process. Unlike Jason Voorhees or Springtrap, The Judgment does not come from an existing horror franchise.
The Judgment also shares a direct connection with Aurora. According to the current lore, the divine entity caused the destruction of her world. This gives Chorus of Sin a stronger religious horror angle than most recent Chapters.
Instead of another masked slasher or stalking monster, The Judgment focuses on sin, punishment, and divine wrath. Casual stuff. Totally normal Fog behavior.
What Does The Judgment’s Power Do?
The Judgment uses Divine Light against Survivors affected by Heresy. Survivors become Heretics after committing specific transgressions during a Trial.
This system should make The Judgment more interactive than a basic chase-and-hit Killer. Survivors will need to consider how their actions affect the power instead of only watching the Killer’s position.
The Judgment can also banish Heretic Survivors to the Hopeless Exile Realm. This separate area gives the Killer a unique way to disrupt the match.
Inside the Exile Realm, Survivors must collect Exiled Souls with a special item. Doing so protects them from the Realm’s hazards and helps them escape its effects.
What Are The Judgment’s Perks?
The Judgment currently has three listed perks: Vigilance, Hex: Under Your Thumb, and Lay Waste.
Vigilance helps the Killer track the Obsession. Hex: Under Your Thumb restricts Haste effects, while Lay Waste increases generator regression based on the generator’s current progress.
Together, these perks offer aura reading, anti-Haste pressure, and generator control. The Judgment’s power then adds a separate punishment system through Heresy and the Hopeless Exile Realm.
