Behaviour Interactive has released a new Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin story trailer ahead of the Chapter’s August 25, 2026 launch.
The trailer focuses on new Killer The Judgment and Survivor Aurora Stardotter. Their connected story takes Dead by Daylight into a post-apocalyptic world shaped by a destructive divine force.
Chorus of Sin also stands apart from a typical Dead by Daylight Chapter. Behaviour developed many of its major ideas with direct input from the game’s community. The studio previously confirmed it as the first community-created Chapter in Dead by Daylight history.
Chorus of Sin Adds The Judgment and Aurora Stardotter
The Judgment is a divine being responsible for destroying the world Aurora once called home.
Its arrival introduces a new Killer power called Will of the Gods. The ability uses Divine Light and a new Heresy mechanic.
Divine Light lets The Judgment summon and direct a pillar of light. The attack can injure Survivors and mark them with Heresy.
If The Judgment later downs a marked Survivor, it can send them into Exile. Survivors trapped there must avoid additional hazards while trying to escape their punishment.
The Judgment also arrives with three character-specific Perks. They are Celestial Witness, Hex: Under Your Thumb, and Lay Waste.
Aurora Stardotter represents the other side of the Chapter’s story. She is a spiritual scientist who survived the destruction caused by The Judgment.
Her three Perks are Fruits of Your Labor, Salvation’s Cry, and Boon: Steadfast. Together, they offer options tied to Generator progress, chase information, healing, and team support.
Dead by Daylight Players Helped Create Chorus of Sin
Behaviour did not decide every major part of Chorus of Sin on its own.
Instead, the studio invited players to help shape the Chapter through community votes, development updates, and streams. Fans helped choose the direction of the Killer, Survivor, themes, and other major elements.
Those votes eventually led to The Judgment’s divine design and Aurora’s post-apocalyptic background.
Behaviour first began the process more than a year before the Chapter’s reveal. Hundreds of thousands of community votes helped shape the finished concept.
Players have already had a chance to test Chorus of Sin through the Steam Public Test Build earlier this month. The new story trailer now shifts attention toward the full release.
Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin launches Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
The release will officially bring The Judgment and Aurora Stardotter into The Fog after their time in the Public Test Build.
