The Disney Dreamlight Valley Ghost Hunt requires players to photograph 10 ghosts inside the haunted building at the Haunted Floating Festival. All 10 ghosts are indoors, so there’s no need to search the rest of the festival island for them.
Ghost Hunt is the ninth and final puzzle of the 2026 Haunted Floating Festival. It became available Oct. 18 and rewards players with a Ghost furniture item.
The ghosts are spread across four rooms, with a few tucked into corners or floating overhead.
How to Start the Ghost Hunt
First, enter the Haunted Floating Festival through the portal in the Plaza. You can also teleport to the event using the Event tab.
Once you arrive, head to the purple haunted mansion building used for the Haunted Library and Release the Curse puzzles.
Inside the entrance room, look toward the left corner near the glowing book and the small table decorated with Night Thorns.
You’ll find a sparkling disposable camera.
Interact with the camera to activate Ghost Hunt. You can then use your Royal Phone camera to photograph the ghosts throughout the building.
Each successful photograph makes the ghost disappear.
All 10 Ghost Hunt Locations
The 10 ghosts are divided between the entrance room, storage room, hallway, and locked bedroom.

The easiest approach is to clear one room at a time.
Start with the two ghosts in the entrance room, then enter the storage room and photograph all three ghosts near the shelves and chests.
Next, move through the hallway and capture the three ghosts floating along the corridor.
Finally, enter the locked bedroom for the remaining two.
Important: One bedroom ghost floats close to the floor while the other circles near the ceiling. Make sure to look up if you’re missing the final ghost.
How to Photograph the Ghosts
Open your Royal Phone camera and position yourself so the ghost appears clearly in the photograph.
Once you take a successful picture, the ghost disappears.
Some ghosts move around their rooms, while others grow and shrink. If a ghost doesn’t disappear after taking a picture, adjust your position and try again.
You don’t need to photograph the decorative ghosts outside the building. Only the 10 ghosts inside count toward completing Ghost Hunt.
If you haven’t unlocked the bedroom, you’ll need to progress through the earlier Haunted Mansion puzzles to access it.
Reward and Missing Reward Pouch
After photographing all 10 ghosts, a Haunted Floating Festival Pouch should appear.
Collect the pouch to unlock the Ghost furniture item, which you can place in your Valley.
However, some players have reported that the reward pouch doesn’t appear inside the haunted building after completing the puzzle.
Instead, it can appear somewhere in the main Valley.
If you’ve photographed all 10 ghosts but haven’t received your reward:
- Check the area where you photographed the final ghost.
- Return to your main Valley.
- Search around your house and nearby biomes for the reward pouch.
- Check your furniture collection to see whether the Ghost has already been unlocked.
Players have reported finding the missing pouch in different Valley locations, so there isn’t one guaranteed spot to check.
If your reward is still missing, it may be related to a reported event bug rather than an overlooked ghost.
When Does Ghost Hunt End?
The Disney Dreamlight Valley Ghost Hunt is available through Oct. 31, 2026, when the Haunted Floating Festival ends.
You don’t need to complete the earlier festival puzzles again if you’ve already finished them. Simply return to the haunted building, activate the camera, and photograph all 10 ghosts to finish the final challenge.
