The NBA 2K27 editions range from the $69.99 Standard Edition to the limited-time $149.99 Ultra Edition. However, the differences go beyond the cover athletes.
Each version offers a different mix of VC, MyCAREER content, MyTEAM rewards, Season Pass access, and early playtime. Here is what comes with each edition and which one makes the most sense for you.

NBA 2K27 launches on September 4, 2026. The Standard Edition will appear on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam.
Meanwhile, the Deluxe and Ultra Editions are limited to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. 2K has not announced either premium edition for Nintendo Switch 2.
What Comes with the NBA 2K27 Standard Edition?
The NBA 2K27 Standard Edition costs $69.99 and features San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama on the cover.
This edition provides the most affordable way to play the new game. It launches on September 4 alongside the worldwide release.
The Standard Edition is also the only version confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2. However, it does not include the early access period offered with the two premium editions.
As a result, Standard will suit players who mainly enjoy Play Now, MyNBA, or other modes that do not require a large supply of VC.
What Comes with the NBA 2K27 Deluxe Edition?
The NBA 2K27 Deluxe Edition costs $99.99 and features Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark on its cover.
It includes 100,000 VC and several bonuses for MyCAREER and MyTEAM. Deluxe owners can also begin playing on August 28 at 9 a.m. PT. That provides up to one week of early access.
The MyCAREER bonuses include:
- 25 of each of the six Skill Boost types
- 25 of each of the three Gatorade Boost types
- Victor Wembanyama jersey
- Caitlin Clark jersey
- Two-hour double XP coin
The MyTEAM bonuses include:
- Full NBA 2K27 Series 1 team selection
- Triple Threat Park Free Agent Pack
- Five Series 1 packs
- Two-hour double XP coin
Therefore, the Deluxe Edition offers the strongest middle ground. It costs $30 more than Standard but adds 100,000 VC, mode-specific rewards, and early access.
What Comes with the NBA 2K27 Ultra Edition?
The limited-time NBA 2K27 Ultra Edition costs $149.99 and features Chicago Bulls legend Derrick Rose.
Ultra includes everything found in the Deluxe Edition. It then adds another 35,000 VC, bringing the total to 135,000 VC.
Additional Ultra Edition content includes:
- Season 1 Pro Pass
- Pro Passes for Seasons 7, 8, and 9
- Roses Oversize Hoodie for MyCAREER
- Guaranteed 98 OVR MyTEAM card in December 2026
- Guaranteed Invincible MyTEAM card in May 2027
- Early access beginning August 28
The three Summer Season Pro Passes will arrive during summer 2027. Players will not receive those passes at launch.
Ultra is only available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. In addition, 2K will stop selling it after September 6, 2026. The Ultra Edition is digital-only.
Can NBA 2K26 Players Get a Discount?
NBA 2K26 players may qualify for a 10% discount on the digital Ultra Edition.
You must purchase NBA 2K27 on the same platform where you own NBA 2K26. The offer runs through September 3, 2026, through participating platform stores.
However, availability restrictions may apply. The discount is also limited to one purchase per platform account.
Which NBA 2K27 Edition Should You Buy?
The Deluxe Edition will be the best NBA 2K27 edition for most regular MyCAREER and MyTEAM players. It adds 100,000 VC and useful boosts without reaching the Ultra Edition’s $149.99 price.
Choose the Standard Edition if you only want the game or plan to spend most of your time in modes that do not depend on VC. Switch 2 players will also need to choose Standard based on the editions announced so far.
Ultra makes more sense for dedicated players who expect to use the Season Passes. However, it costs $50 more than Deluxe while only adding another 35,000 VC at launch. Much of its remaining value arrives through seasonal content and future MyTEAM cards.
NBA 2K27 launches on September 4. Deluxe and Ultra Edition owners can start playing one week earlier on August 28.
