2K has revealed the NBA 2K27 cover athletes. Victor Wembanyama, Caitlin Clark, and Derrick Rose will each appear on a different edition of the game.
NBA 2K27 launches worldwide on September 4, 2026. It will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam.
However, 2K has not announced versions for PS4, Xbox One, or the original Nintendo Switch.
NBA 2K27 Cover Athletes and Editions
San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama appears on the $69.99 Standard Edition. Wembanyama recently became the NBA’s first unanimous Defensive Player of the Year. He is also the first Spurs player to appear on an NBA 2K cover.
Meanwhile, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark headlines the $99.99 Deluxe Edition. Clark becomes the first WNBA player to receive her own global NBA 2K premium cover. She also won the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year award.
Chicago Bulls legend Derrick Rose appears on the limited-time $149.99 Ultra Edition. Rose remains the youngest MVP in NBA history. This also marks his second NBA 2K cover appearance after NBA 2K13.
The Ultra Edition will only remain available through September 6, 2026.
In addition, all three cover athletes share two major career milestones. Each player entered their league as the No. 1 overall draft pick and later won Rookie of the Year.
NBA 2K27 Early Access and Gameplay Trailer Dates
Players who buy the Deluxe or Ultra Edition can start NBA 2K27 early. Early access begins on August 28 at 9 a.m. PT. It will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. As a result, premium edition owners can play up to one week before the worldwide release.
The Deluxe Edition includes 100,000 VC. It also comes with several MyCAREER and MyTEAM bonuses. The Ultra Edition adds another 35,000 VC. It also includes a Season 1 Pro Pass, cosmetic items, and future MyTEAM player cards.
For now, 2K has not announced either premium edition for Nintendo Switch 2.
NBA 2K27 preorders are live on all stores like Steam. Also, the first gameplay trailer will premiere on Tuesday, July 28.
