The Purple Haunted Mansion puzzles are among the biggest additions to Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Haunted Floating Festival in 2026. This time, players can explore several rooms filled with mysterious objects, hidden clues, and puzzles that connect to one another.
Unlike the returning festival challenges, you can’t finish everything inside the mansion immediately. Certain rooms and objectives must be completed before others become accessible.
Here’s how to work through the mansion’s puzzles and collect its exclusive rewards.
Where to Find the Haunted Mansion Puzzles
To begin the new Haunted Mansion puzzles, head to the purple building with multiple rooms on the Haunted Floating Festival island.
This is separate from the building containing the talking Haunted Armor and two pianos, which is used for Puzzle 5.
Inside the purple building, you’ll find the key fragments, books, and other clues needed to complete Puzzles 6-8.
How to Find Both Haunted Key Fragments
Begin by entering the Haunted Mansion on the festival island.
Your first objective is to find two Haunted Key Fragments, which you’ll eventually combine to unlock another room.
Follow the Ghostly Fox
Look for the Ghostly Fox inside the mansion and approach it.
The fox disappears whenever you get close, then reappears somewhere else in the building.
Follow it through these areas:
- The hallway near the locked bedroom.
- The front of the hallway.
- The main entrance room near the sparkling book.
- The storage room.
- The main room near the crafting station.
- The rear corner of the storage room.
Once you’ve followed the fox to its final location, you’ll receive the first Haunted Key Fragment.
Light the Four Jack-o’-Lanterns
The second fragment requires four Jack-o’-Candles.
Head to the hallway and use your Royal Pickaxe to destroy the right-hand white lion statue. Collect the Red Festival Key it drops.
Next, enter the storage room and find the two red chests.
One chest contains two Jack-o’-Candles. Use the Red Festival Key to open the other chest and collect the remaining two.
Now locate the four unlit Jack-o’-Lanterns:
- Two in the storage room.
- One near the crafting station in the main room.
- One toward the back of the hallway.
Place a candle inside each pumpkin.
Lighting the fourth Jack-o’-Lantern causes the second Haunted Key Fragment to appear.
Return to the crafting station, combine both fragments into the Repaired Haunted Key, and use it to unlock the bedroom.
How to Complete the Haunted Library Puzzle
Inside the newly unlocked bedroom, you’ll find the first of four misplaced books.
Each book must be returned to a different room. Finding one leads you toward the next, so follow the sequence below rather than searching the whole building at once.

After returning Terrifying Tunes to the bedroom bookshelf, a Memory Orb appears.
Collect it and complete the memory puzzle.
Solving it awards the Chomping Chest and provides clues needed for the next challenge.
How to Complete Release the Curse
With the bedroom unlocked and the library puzzle finished, you can solve the mansion’s combination puzzle.
You’ll find four rotating symbol tiles inside the bedroom.
Set them in this order:

Important: This is not the same order used for the returning Combination Pillar puzzle outside the mansion.
Once all four symbols match, the Lost Magic Page appears on the ground.
Pick it up and interact with the Grimoire inside the bedroom.
Return the page to the book to complete Release the Curse and receive the Decorative Magic Seal.
How to Unlock the Secret Basement
There’s one additional reward hidden around the Haunted Mansion.
Return to the bedroom and look for the lion statue with a key in its mouth, near the bookstand.
Use your Royal Pickaxe to destroy the statue and collect the Eerie Basement Door Key.
Next, leave the mansion and follow the exterior wall toward the basement entrance.
Use the key to unlock the door, head inside, and open the reward chest.
You’ll receive the Eerie Basement Door furniture item.
With the basement cleared, you’ve finished the mansion puzzles currently available before the Oct. 18 Ghost Hunt.
