The Enshrouded 1.0 release date is finally locked in. Enshrouded fans finally have a clearer picture of when the survival action RPG is leaving Early Access. Keen Games has shared a new launch update for the full 1.0 release, along with fresh platform details for players waiting to explore Embervale outside of Steam Early Access.
The announcement also gives longtime players a better idea of what to expect after more than two years of major updates, community feedback, new biomes, building improvements, and plenty of very normal player creations. Surely nobody built anything cursed. Surely.
Enshrouded 1.0 Launches October 15, 2026
Enshrouded first launched in Steam Early Access in January 2024, and Keen Games has spent more than two years building toward the full 1.0 release.
Since then, the game has received eight major content updates. Those updates added new biomes, monsters, weapons, armor, base materials, decorations, and more. Keen also added dynamic water, which is not exactly a small thing for a voxel-based survival game.
The full 1.0 launch will bring Enshrouded to PC, PS5, and PS5 Pro on October 15, 2026. Keen Games says more details about improvements, optimization, quality-of-life changes, and new 1.0 content will arrive later this summer.
Why is the Xbox Version Coming Later?
Keen Games said the team originally wanted to launch Enshrouded 1.0 across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox at the same time. That plan changed because of the game’s technical demands.
Enshrouded is doing a lot at once. It has large-scale voxel building, deep terraforming, multiplayer systems, combat, crafting, and a big open world. Getting all of that running properly on multiple console platforms at the same time turned out to be more difficult than expected.
Keen Games CEO Jan Jöckel said the team did not want to rush the Xbox release or compromise the quality of the game. Work on the Xbox Series X|S version is still ongoing, with launch now planned for spring 2027.
It is not the news Xbox players wanted, but it is better than getting a rough port just to hit the same date. We have all seen how that movie ends, and it usually has a day-one patch the size of a small moon.
What is Enshrouded?
Enshrouded is a co-op survival action RPG set in Embervale, a ruined fantasy world covered by a deadly fog called the Shroud. Players build bases, craft gear, fight bosses, explore dangerous regions, and push deeper into the fog to recover lost treasures and uncover the world’s history.
The game supports co-op for up to 16 players, which has helped make building one of its biggest strengths. Players have already used the voxel tools to create castles, huge bases, strange monuments, and yes, the kind of cursed community builds that make you wonder if humanity deserves creative freedom.
Combat gives players room to build around different styles, including Wizard, Ranger, and Warrior setups. Between crafting, exploration, boss fights, and settlement building, Enshrouded has become one of the bigger survival RPGs to watch heading into its full launch.
Enshrouded Has Already Passed 5 Million Players
Enshrouded has already reached more than 5 million players during Early Access, giving Keen Games a strong base heading into 1.0.
That player feedback has shaped the game’s updates since launch, and Keen says it will continue supporting Enshrouded after 1.0. The studio is planning more content beyond the full release, so October 15 is not being treated as the finish line.
For players who have waited for the full version before jumping in, this is the date to circle. For Early Access players, 1.0 should be the biggest reason yet to return to Embervale.

Enshrouded 1.0 is Close, Even if Xbox Has to Wait
Enshrouded leaving Early Access is a big moment for one of the stronger survival RPGs of the last few years. The Xbox delay stings, but Keen Games is at least being upfront about why that version needs more time.
PC and PlayStation players get the full launch on October 15, 2026. Xbox Series X|S players are still getting Enshrouded, but they will have to wait until spring 2027.
