What do Hedgehogs eat in Disney Dreamlight Valley? That is one of the first questions players are asking after entering Honeyglow Woods, especially if one of the new critters is already wandering nearby.
Hedgehogs are part of the Honeyglow Woods Adventure Pack, so this is not a base-game critter guide. You need access to the new area before you can find and feed them.
What Do Hedgehogs Eat in Dreamlight Valley?

Hedgehogs eat Blueberries in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Bring Blueberries with you when exploring Honeyglow Woods so you can feed Hedgehogs when they appear.
Like other critters, Hedgehogs can be fed to earn rewards and work toward unlocking them as companions. Gameloft confirmed that Hedgehogs have Photo Mode poses and Friendship Levels to unlock, so feeding them is worth doing if you like collecting critter companions.
Since Honeyglow Woods is brand-new, some details may still need more in-game testing. However, Blueberries are the current food to use when feeding Hedgehogs.
Where to Find Hedgehogs in Dreamlight Valley
Hedgehogs are found in Honeyglow Woods, the new Winnie the Pooh-themed area added with the Adventure Pack.
Honeyglow Woods includes multiple areas, including Drowsybloom Acre, Gloommeadow, Braveheart Grove, and the Nectar Apiary. If you do not see a Hedgehog right away, keep exploring the new zones and check your Critters collection menu for available variants.
You can read more about the new area in the official Honeyglow Woods patch notes.
How to Feed Hedgehogs
To feed a Hedgehog, find one in Honeyglow Woods and approach it when the interact prompt appears. Then choose Blueberries from your inventory.
If the Hedgehog runs, hides, or will not let you interact right away, slow down and watch its behavior. Most Disney Dreamlight Valley critters have a small approach trick, and Hedgehogs may need a second before they let you feed them.
Do not spam the interact button or chase them around the biome like you are auditioning for a tiny woodland police chase. Move carefully, wait for the prompt, and feed them once the game lets you.
Where to Get Blueberries in Dreamlight Valley
You can get Blueberries from Blueberry bushes in Dazzle Beach and the Forest of Valor. Each harvest gives you three Blueberries, and the bushes regrow after a short wait.
Blueberries can also be bought from Goofy’s Stall in the Forest of Valor when available. If you have moved your fruit bushes into an orchard, check there before running back through every biome.
Because Hedgehogs eat Blueberries, it is worth keeping a small stack in storage. You may already have some if you have been gathering fruit for recipes, gifts, or Dreamlight Duties.
Do You Need Honeyglow Woods to Feed Hedgehogs?
Yes, you need access to Honeyglow Woods to find Hedgehogs. They are not base-game Plaza, Meadow, or Beach critters.
Honeyglow Woods is a paid Adventure Pack for most players. If you are not sure how the purchase works, check our guide on whether Honeyglow Woods is free in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Apple Arcade Edition players get access to Honeyglow Woods at launch without an extra purchase. Standard players need the Adventure Pack or Honeyglow Woods Edition.
Can You Unlock Hedgehogs as Companions?
Yes, Hedgehogs can be unlocked as companions. Gameloft confirmed that the new Hedgehogs come with Photo Mode poses and Friendship Levels to unlock.
That means you should keep feeding them when they appear. As with other critters, unlocking a specific Hedgehog may take multiple successful feedings across different days.
Once unlocked, check your Wardrobe menu under Companions. You should be able to equip your Hedgehog there and bring it around the Valley.
