How to Get Golden Honey
Golden Honey comes from the beekeeping system in Honeyglow Woods. To make it, use Busy Bees’ Houses and place flowers around them so the flowers become pollinated.
Once the Busy Bees’ House has enough pollinated flowers nearby, it can generate Golden Honey over time. This makes Golden Honey one of the more important Honeyglow Woods resources, especially if you are feeding Hedgehogs or cooking new honey-based recipes.
How to Get Pufflebud Pods
Pufflebud Pods, purple and yellow in color, are another favorite food for Hedgehogs. You can buy Pufflebud Pods from the Seed Stall in Drowsybloom Acre for 150 Star Coins after unlocking.
Because Golden Honey takes time to generate, Pufflebud Pods are a useful backup favorite food. Stock up when you can, then keep a few in storage for Hedgehog feeding days.
If the stall is not available yet, keep following the Honeyglow Woods story quests and restore the marked access points as they appear. The new area opens in stages, so some resources may not be available the second you step through the gateway.
How to Feed Hedgehogs
To feed a Hedgehog, approach it in Honeyglow Woods and wait for the interact prompt. Hedgehogs do not need the same red-light-green-light approach used by critters like Raccoons or Crocodiles.

Do not sprint after it like you are trying to arrest a decorative pincushion. Move calmly, wait for the prompt, and feed it when the game allows you to.
How to Unlock Hedgehogs as Companions
Yes, you can unlock four different types of Hedgehogs as companions. Gameloft confirmed that the new Hedgehogs come with Photo Mode poses and Friendship Levels to unlock.
- Classic Hedgehog: Drowsybloom Acre – All Day
- Green Hedgehog: Gloommeadow from 12 am to 12 pm
- Orange Hedgehog: Nectar Apiary from 12 pm to 12 am
- Yellow Hedgehog: Braveheart Grove from 12 pm to 12 am
That means you should keep feeding them Golden Honey or Pufflebud Pods when they appear. As with other critters, unlocking a specific Hedgehog may take multiple successful feedings across different days.
Once unlocked, check your Wardrobe menu under Companions. You should be able to equip your Hedgehog there and bring it around the Valley.
