How to get Speed Skills in FH6 can seem obvious until a Festival Playlist objective refuses to count your run. Forza Horizon 6 separates Speed Skills into several tiers, and some challenges add restrictions for the car, race type, or order of objectives.
This guide explains how FH6 Speed Skills work, the speeds required for each tier, and the easiest places to earn them.
How to Complete the Mechanics of Emotion Speed Skills
The Series 3 Autumn Weekly Challenge, Mechanics of Emotion, asks you to earn four Speed Skills in the 2014 Alfa Romeo 4C.
You must complete the Weekly Challenge steps in order.
Complete the Earlier Objectives First
Before attempting the Speed Skills, you must:
- Own and drive the 2014 Alfa Romeo 4C.
- Complete a run at any Drag Meet.
- Earn four Speed Skills in any circuit Road Race.
- Earn five stars across Speed Zones.
Speed Skills earned before completing the Drag Meet step will not count toward the third objective.
How to Get Speed Skills in FH6
Drive above 100 mph for several seconds without crashing or slowing down sharply to earn a Speed Skill in Forza Horizon 6.
The skill notification appears near the top of the screen once the game registers your sustained speed. Touching 100 mph for a split second may not count, so keep accelerating until the Speed Skill text appears.
You can earn several Speed Skills during one long run. Continue holding a high speed after the first skill appears, and the game may award another as your Skill Chain continues.
All Speed Skill Requirements in FH6
Forza Horizon 6 has four Speed Skill tiers:

Higher tiers add more points to your active Skill Chain. However, they do not always replace lower-tier requirements.
If an objective specifically asks for Great Speed Skills, watch for the words Great Speed on the screen. A standard Speed Skill may not count toward that challenge.
Use a Circuit Road Race
The easiest standard event for this objective is Electric Town Circuit in Tokyo City. It accepts A700 Modern Sports Cars, which includes the stock 2014 Alfa Romeo 4C.
Electric Town Circuit unlocks after completing the Off Piste Wristband event and earning the Pink Wristband. Its long straights also give the Alfa enough room to trigger several Speed Skills during one race.
Do not use Daikoku Circuit. Although the 4C belongs to the broader sports-car category, Daikoku has a B600 limit. The stock Alfa Romeo 4C sits at A644, so it cannot enter that standard event.
If Electric Town Circuit is not unlocked yet, you can create a custom Road Circuit event that allows the Alfa Romeo 4C. However, Electric Town is the only normal Festival Circuit that matches the car’s stock class and category.
The Need for Speed
To get Speed Skills in FH6, hold at least 100 mph until the skill notification appears. Use a long highway for general objectives, and check every car or race restriction before starting a Festival Playlist challenge.
