How to Get Golden Pattypan in Dreamlight Valley

Golden Pattypan in Dreamlight Valley is one of the new vegetables found in the Honeyglow Woods Adventure Pack. You will need it for several recipes while progressing through the new story, but it does not grow naturally around the woods.

Before you can start farming it, you must find the region’s seed stall and complete a quick unlock step.

To get Golden Pattypan, purchase Golden Pattypan Seeds for 50 Star Coins from the Hunny Seed Stall in Drowsybloom Acre. Plant the seeds, water them twice, and wait for the crop to finish growing.

Each seed produces two Golden Pattypans when harvested. The normal growth time is 20 minutes, but the crop grows in about 18 minutes when planted in Drowsybloom Acre.

Bring a villager assigned to the Gardening role when harvesting if you want a chance to receive additional crops.

How to Unlock the Hunny Seed Stall

The Hunny Seed Stall is in Drowsybloom Acre, the first main biome in Honeyglow Woods. Unlike the Goofy Stalls around the Valley, it is not unlocked by paying Star Coins or completing upgrades.

Look on the ground near the stall for a Shopping List. Pick up the list and bring it back to the Hunny Seed Stall to open the shop.

The game guides you toward the stall while progressing through Chapter 2: About Thought, Fog, and Light. However, you can find the Shopping List and unlock the stall earlier if you want to begin farming immediately.

Golden Pattypan Seeds should be available as soon as the stall opens.

How Long Does Golden Pattypan Take to Grow?

Golden Pattypan takes 20 minutes to grow and requires two waterings. Planting it in Drowsybloom Acre reduces the growth time to approximately 18 minutes because this is its preferred biome.

To grow it:

  1. Dig a gardening hole using your Royal Shovel.
  2. Plant one Golden Pattypan Seed.
  3. Water the crop using your Royal Watering Can.
  4. Return when the plant dries out and water it again.
  5. Harvest the finished crop.

Plant several seeds at once if you are working through the Honeyglow Woods story. Multiple quests and recipes use Golden Pattypan, so keeping a few in storage can prevent another farming wait later.

What is Golden Pattypan Used For?

Golden Pattypan is specifically required for two Honeyglow Woods meals:

  • Foresty Quiche
  • Rabbit’s Garden Pie

Foresty Quiche is a five-star entrée made with Golden Pattypan, Juniper Berry, Truffle, any fish, and any Dairy or Oil ingredient.

Rabbit’s Garden Pie requires Golden Pattypan, Parsnip, Pufflebud Pods, Carrot, and any grain. You need the pie while helping Piglet during Chapter 7: A Voice Behind the Door.

Golden Pattypan is also classified as a vegetable. This means it can fill the “Any Vegetable” slot in flexible recipes, including Honey-Glazed Plush Fish. However, Carrots and other inexpensive vegetables are usually better choices when the recipe does not specifically require Golden Pattypan.

Can You Buy Golden Pattypan Directly?

The Hunny Seed Stall sells Golden Pattypan Seeds rather than the harvested vegetable. You must plant and grow the seeds before you can use Golden Pattypan in cooking.

Wall-E’s garden may occasionally produce one after it is placed in Honeyglow Woods, but the available crops are random. Growing seeds from the Hunny Seed Stall is the reliable method.

Once the stall is unlocked, buy a small batch of seeds and grow them in Drowsybloom Acre. The short growth timer and two-item harvest make Golden Pattypan fairly easy to stockpile once you know where to begin.
