To equip snow tires in Forza Horizon 6, take your car to a Festival Site or Player House, open Upgrades & Tuning, and select Custom Upgrade. Enter Tires and Rims, choose Tire Compound, then purchase and install the Snow Tire Compound.
Snow tires provide a useful grip upgrade during the Winter season. They also remain helpful while exploring the permanently snowy Alpine region, which keeps its snow regardless of the current Festival Playlist season.
How to Install Snow Tires
Follow these steps to install snow tires on your current car:
- Visit a Festival Site or Player House.
- Open the Cars menu.
- Select Upgrades & Tuning.
- Choose Custom Upgrade.
- Open Tires and Rims.
- Select Tire Compound.
- Highlight Snow Tire Compound.
- Purchase and install the upgrade.
Snow tires are installed separately on each car. Buying them for one vehicle does not unlock or apply them across your entire garage.
The Snow Tire Compound commonly costs 10,000 Credits, although you should check the displayed price before confirming the upgrade. Installing it may also change the vehicle’s Performance Index and class.
Are Snow Tires Available for Every Car?
Many Forza Horizon 6 vehicles support the Snow Tire Compound, including sports cars, trucks, supercars, and off-road vehicles. However, upgrade choices can vary depending on the selected car and its stock setup.
If Snow Tire Compound does not appear, check that you opened Tire Compound rather than tire width, rims, or another option under Tires and Rims.
You can also search for a community tune built specifically for snow. Downloaded tunes install the included parts automatically, but they may change more than the tires.
Are Snow Tires Better Than Off-Road Tires?
Snow tires are the safer choice for races and roads covered heavily in snow. Off-road and rally compounds can still perform well in mixed conditions, especially when a route includes dirt, grass, and only small snowy sections.
For the current Winter season, snow-tire tunes are particularly helpful during slippery road races and cross-country events. Players have also reported that general off-road tires remain usable, so you do not need to rebuild every car unless traction is becoming a problem.
How to Remove Snow Tires
Return to Custom Upgrade and open Tires and Rims followed by Tire Compound. Select the stock tires or another available compound, then confirm the new setup.
You will need to purchase a different compound if you have not already owned it for that car. Before replacing your Winter setup, save the current build as a separate tune so you can reinstall it when snow returns.
When Should You Use Snow Tires?
Snow tires are most useful during the Winter Festival Playlist, on snow-covered mountain roads, and throughout the Japanese Alps. The Alpine region retains snow throughout the year, making a dedicated Winter car useful even after the weekly season changes.
