The Halo Campaign Evolved voice actors include several veterans from the original game and later entries in the series. However, Halo Studios also recast Sergeant Johnson and Captain Keyes for the remake.
Halo: Campaign Evolved features newly recorded dialogue, updated cinematics, and three new Operation: Meteorite missions. Premium and Collector’s Edition early access began on July 23, 2026, ahead of the full July 28 release.

Steve Downes, Jen Taylor, and Tim Dadabo return to roles they first played in Halo: Combat Evolved. Meanwhile, Keston John and Keith Silverstein provide new performances as Sergeant Johnson and Captain Keyes.
Steve Downes as Master Chief
Steve Downes returns as John-117, better known as the Master Chief.
Downes has voiced the character throughout the main Halo game series. For Campaign Evolved, he recorded fresh dialogue for both the rebuilt original campaign and its new story content.
The remake also includes Operation: Meteorite. This three-mission prequel follows Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson one year before the events on Alpha Halo.
Jen Taylor as Cortana
Jen Taylor reprises her role as Cortana, the artificial intelligence who guides Master Chief during the campaign.
Taylor has voiced Cortana since the original 2001 release. She also played Dr. Catherine Halsey and the Weapon in later Halo games.
Halo Studios brought Taylor and Downes back to record new performances rather than simply reusing all the dialogue from the original release.
Keston John as Sergeant Johnson
Keston John voices Sergeant Avery Johnson in Halo: Campaign Evolved.
David Scully played Johnson in the original Halo: Combat Evolved and several later games. However, John takes over the role for the remake and its expanded story.
Johnson has a larger part this time because he joins Master Chief throughout Operation: Meteorite.
Keith Silverstein as Captain Keyes
Keith Silverstein voices Captain Jacob Keyes.
Pete Stacker originally played Keyes in Halo: Combat Evolved. Silverstein now provides a new performance for the rebuilt cinematics and dialogue.
Keyes remains the commanding officer of the UNSC Pillar of Autumn and plays an important role during the opening stages of the campaign.
Tim Dadabo as 343 Guilty Spark
Tim Dadabo returns as 343 Guilty Spark, the eccentric monitor players encounter later in the campaign.
Dadabo first voiced Guilty Spark in the original Halo. Current credits also list him as the voice of Harmony, a new character connected to the Operation: Meteorite storyline.
Does Halo Campaign Evolved Reuse the Original Voices?
Halo: Campaign Evolved does not rely entirely on the original recordings. Halo Studios recorded new dialogue with its primary cast and rebuilt the cinematics with new motion-capture animation.
However, some smaller performances appear to use archival audio. Current credits list Tawnya Pettiford-Wates as Foe Hammer and Joseph Staten as a Grunt through archived recordings.
Other credited returning performers include Mark Dias as Private Mendoza, Andrew McKaige as Private Chips Dubbo, and Chris Wicklund as Private Fitzgerald.
Halo: Campaign Evolved launches fully on July 28 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. Premium and Collector’s Edition owners can play during the early access period that began July 23.
