How to Get Driftwood in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Driftwood is easy to miss if you keep casting into fishing circles, so use plain water instead.

Driftwood in Disney Dreamlight Valley is a Honeyglow Woods material used in the new Adventure Pack area. If you are following the early Honeyglow Woods quests, you will need it before several repairs can move forward.

The trick is that Driftwood does not come from the normal fishing spots you probably chase by instinct. For this material, plain water is the better target.

To get Driftwood in Disney Dreamlight Valley, fish in Honeyglow Woods water outside ripple spots. Cast your Fishing Rod into plain water instead of the white, blue, or gold fishing circles.

If you keep fishing in ripples, you are more likely to pull up fish instead of the material you need. Aim away from the circles, cast into open water, and repeat until Driftwood appears.

This works a lot like farming Seaweed in the base game. The boring-looking cast is the one you want, because apparently Dreamlight Valley loves hiding useful materials in the least exciting fishing spots.

Where to Farm Driftwood

Farm Driftwood in Honeyglow Woods near any water you can fish in. The exact spot matters less than where you cast.

Stand near the water, make sure your line is not landing in a ripple, and fish repeatedly. You may not get Driftwood every time, so bring some food if your energy is low.

If you are still unlocking the area, keep checking every new river, pond, or water path you open. Honeyglow Woods has several themed spaces, and water becomes more useful once quests start asking for materials.

What is Driftwood Used For?

Driftwood is used for Honeyglow Woods quests and repairs. You need it during early Adventure Pack progression, and it is also one of the materials tied to unlocking Scrooge McDuck and Remy access points in the new area.

Because Driftwood is used in multiple steps, do not stop after finding one piece unless your quest only asks for one. Keep a small stack if you plan to keep pushing through Honeyglow Woods quests.

Keep on Fishing

Driftwood is simple once you stop fishing the way Dreamlight Valley trained you to fish. Ignore ripples, cast into plain Honeyglow Woods water, and keep a few extra pieces for repairs.

If you are trying to unlock the new Scrooge and Remy access points, gather Driftwood alongside Tree Resin and Oak Leaves so you can handle both marked spots without extra backtracking.
