The A Halloween Invasion quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley kicks off Oogie Boogie’s Season of Scares storyline. You’ll enter his twisted version of Scrooge McDuck’s Store, play Whack-a-Pumpkin, collect Fear Essence, and clear Oogie Boogie Bugs and spooky pumpkins from around the Valley.
This is the first of six weekly Oogie Boogie quests, so completing it gets you started toward permanently unlocking Oogie Boogie and Zero.
A Halloween Invasion Quest Guide
A Halloween Invasion introduces Oogie Boogie, his Lucky Wheel, and the apparently flawless idea of letting him loose around the Valley.
Here’s the full Week 1 route:
- Enter Scrooge McDuck’s Store and talk to Scrooge.
- Inspect the Strange Mirror and travel through it.
- Go upstairs and talk to Oogie Boogie.
- Try to use the Lucky Wheel.
- Talk to Oogie Boogie again after the wheel refuses to work.
- Follow him to Whack-a-Pumpkin.
- Interact with the giant dice to start the game.
- Use your Royal Pickaxe to smash 10 Whack-a-Pumpkin targets.
- Collect 10 Fear Essence and bring it back to Oogie Boogie.
- Spin the Lucky Wheel.
Naturally, giving Oogie Boogie exactly what he wanted does not improve the situation.
The wheel unleashes Oogie Boogie Bugs and strange pumpkins around your Valley. You now need to clear:
- Three Oogie Boogie Bug swarms inside Mickey’s House
- You can do so by standing on them and pressing the remove button when prompted.
- Four Oogie Boogie Bug swarms inside Goofy’s House
- Eight Sweet or Spooky Pumpkins across the Plaza and Peaceful Meadow
Use your Royal Pickaxe to break the pumpkins and collect the Fear Essence they drop.
Your quest tracker requires 20 additional Fear Essence before you can return to Oogie Boogie.
Once you have all 20, head back through the Strange Mirror in Scrooge’s Store, hand over the Fear Essence, and spin the Lucky Wheel again. Open the chest that appears to finish A Halloween Invasion.
A Halloween Invasion Rewards
Week 1 includes several rewards inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas:
- Lock Mask
- Shock Mask
- Barrel Mask
- Oogie Boogie’s Lair Skeletons
Completing A Halloween Invasion does not unlock Oogie Boogie yet. It simply finishes the first stage of his six-week questline.
