The Brown Sea Turtle in Disney Dreamlight Valley is one of the critters you can find after opening Dazzle Beach. It is not hard to feed once you know what it wants, but it does not appear every day.
That makes this a good critter to check for while you are already farming Seaweed, gathering shells, or working through early beach quests.
Where to Find the Brown Sea Turtle in Dreamlight Valley

The Brown Sea Turtle appears on Dazzle Beach in Disney Dreamlight Valley. You need to unlock Dazzle Beach before you can find it roaming around the sand.
Once the biome is open, look along the beach and near the waterline. Sea Turtles are small, so they can blend into the beach more than you expect, especially if you have furniture, houses, or decorations placed nearby.
If you do not see the Brown Sea Turtle, check its schedule before assuming something is wrong. Critter colors rotate throughout the week, and the Brown Sea Turtle only appears on specific days.
Brown Sea Turtle Schedule
The Brown Sea Turtle appears on Dazzle Beach during these times:
- Sunday: 12 AM to 12 PM
- Monday: All day
- Tuesday: Not available
- Wednesday: All day
- Thursday: Not available
- Friday: All day
- Saturday: Not available
These times follow your local system time. If the Brown Sea Turtle is not available, check another Sea Turtle variant or come back on one of its active days.
Why the Brown Sea Turtle is Not Showing Up
If the Brown Sea Turtle is missing, the most likely reason is its schedule. It does not appear on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday.
Also check around Dazzle Beach carefully. Critters can wander near paths, rocks, furniture, homes, or the waterline. If your beach is crowded, move around the biome instead of only checking one spot.
If it still does not appear on an active day, restart the game and check again. Dreamlight Valley can be a little dramatic about spawns, because apparently even turtles need office hours.
What to Feed the Brown Sea Turtle in Dreamlight Valley

Feed the Brown Sea Turtle Seaweed. Seaweed is its favorite food, and it is the best item to use if you want to unlock the Brown Sea Turtle as a companion.
You can get Seaweed by fishing in open water outside ripple spots. Do not cast into the white, blue, or gold fishing circles if you are trying to farm Seaweed. Aim for plain water instead.
If you need more, check our guide on where to get Seaweed in Disney Dreamlight Valley before you start chasing turtles around the beach like a very confused lifeguard.
How to Feed the Brown Sea Turtle

Walk up to the Brown Sea Turtle and wait when it hides in its shell. Do not keep moving into it or run around it. Just stop moving and give it a few seconds.
After the turtle comes back out, interact with it and choose Seaweed from your inventory. You should get a reward after feeding it, and that feeding can count toward unlocking it as a companion.
Only the first successful feeding each day counts toward collecting a critter. You can feed it again, but do not expect extra progress toward the companion unlock that same day. You’ll know if you’ve already fed a turtle by looking for the green check mark on the bottom right of the screen after interacting with them.
How to Unlock the Brown Sea Turtle as a Companion

To unlock the Brown Sea Turtle as a companion, feed it preferred food on multiple days. Seaweed is the safest choice because it is the turtle’s favorite food.
The Brown Sea Turtle needs at least three successful feedings before it can join your critter collection, but it may take more. Keep feeding it on days when it appears until the game adds it to your companion list.
After it unlocks, open your Wardrobe menu, go to Companions, and equip the Brown Sea Turtle. It will then follow your character around the Valley.
