Nintendo’s official product page lists the game simply as “Coming 2026.” The company also describes it as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, so it will not be released for the original Nintendo Switch based on the current announcement.
No month, day, release time, or pre-order date has been confirmed. Nintendo may provide a more detailed launch announcement during a future Direct or a dedicated Zelda presentation.
Could the Ocarina of Time Remake Release in November?
Some fans believe the remake could arrive on November 12, 2026, but Nintendo has not confirmed that date.
The theory is connected to Nintendo’s 2026 amiibo schedule. Fans noticed that several previously announced amiibo dates lined up with major Nintendo releases, leading to speculation that the next Kirby Air Riders amiibo launch on November 12 could coincide with Ocarina of Time.
That pattern is interesting, but it is not official evidence. November 12 should be treated as a fan theory unless Nintendo adds the date to its store page or release calendar.
Is Ocarina of Time a Remake or Remaster?
Nintendo has not placed the word “Remake” in the game’s official title. However, the company says the Nintendo 64 classic is being “reborn” for a new generation rather than simply upgraded for Switch 2.

Nintendo’s announcement, store listing, and Zelda website all identify Switch 2 as the only supported platform. There is currently no original Switch version or upgrade pack listed.
Players can already access the original Nintendo 64 version through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. However, that release is separate from the upcoming rebuilt version.
