Garfield will have to work considerably harder than usual later this month. Developed by OSome Studio and published by Microids, the upcoming 3D platformer drops Garfield into a nightmare brought on after Jon serves him spinach lasagna inspired by Chef Monday. Getting back to normal means escaping a world packed with vegetables, enemies, collectibles, and thankfully, plenty of proper lasagna.
Garfield: Escape from Monday Sends Garfield into His Worst Nightmare
Garfield: Escape from Monday is built around traditional 3D platforming, with Garfield able to jump, climb walls, and curl himself into a ball while working through its stages.
The game features three worlds and more than 40 levels, according to Microids’ reveal trailer. Garfield will also gain access to three special costumes that change how he navigates each environment. The turkey costume lets him take to the air, the surfer outfit allows him to travel across water, and the cowboy costume gives him a lasso to swing with.
Familiar characters will appear throughout the adventure as well. Jon, Odie, Arlene, and Pookie are among Garfield’s allies, while Nermal and Squeak are positioned as some of the troublemakers standing in his way.
Collectibles also feed into progression outside the individual levels. Players can gather food and other items while exploring, then use their progress to refurbish rooms inside Jon’s house with different decorations.
