Echo Isle Secret Crystal locations are hidden across bushes, pots, caves, and dungeons. There are 12 Secret Crystals to find, and collecting them lets you upgrade your sword once you know where to turn them in. Some Secret Crystals can be grabbed early, while others require items like the jumping upgrade, Swim Scarf, or bombs. Here is where to find every Secret Crystal in Echo Isle.
What are Secret Crystals for in Echo Isle?
Secret Crystals are used to upgrade your sword from the Traveler’s Sword to the Echo Sword in Echo Isle. Once you have collected all twelve Secret Crystals, you can turn them in for a stronger sword upgrade, making combat easier as you push into the final stage of the game.
Secret Crystal Location 1
You can find the first Secret Crystal after getting the Traveler’s Sword in the cavern.
After leaving the cave, head down the bridge and enter the tile with the person playing the harp. Look below her for a bush. Destroy the bush to reveal the first Secret Crystal.
Secret Crystal Location 2
Return to the starting area where the main character fell from the sky.
Destroy the bushes at the top of the screen, then move to the next screen. Take the exit on the right, and you’ll reach an area with three holes and several bushes. Destroy the top bush to find the second Secret Crystal.
Secret Crystal Location 3
The third Secret Crystal is inside the Seaside Ruins dungeon.
You’ll need to collect the jumping item before you can reach it. After getting the item, progress until you naturally reach the boss key. From there, return toward the entrance and enter the left door in the room with the harp player.
You’ll see a pot across a gap. Jump across and destroy the pot to get the third Secret Crystal.
Secret Crystal Location 4
The fourth Secret Crystal is above Cecilia’s house.
Look for a bush surrounded by two holes. Stand near the edge of the holes and destroy the bush. Then jump across to collect the Secret Crystal.
Secret Crystal Location 5
After collecting the fourth Secret Crystal, go up to the next screen.
You’ll see the harp player again. Look to the right of her for a red bush. Destroy the bush to reveal the fifth Secret Crystal.
Secret Crystal Location 6
After getting the fifth Secret Crystal, exit the screen to the left.
You’ll see three jumping mushrooms nearby. Go up to the next screen, then destroy the bush in this area to find the sixth Secret Crystal.
Secret Crystal Location 7
The seventh Secret Crystal is found in the Flooded Grove dungeon.
Progress through the dungeon until you move from the inside section to the outside area. Once outside, head right and look for a pot, a bush, and a jumping mushroom. Destroy the object here to collect the Secret Crystal.
Secret Crystal Location 8
After unlocking the Swim Scarf in the Flooded Grove dungeon, you can swim to the eighth Secret Crystal.
Return to the same outside location from the previous Secret Crystal. Enter the water and swim toward the upper-right part of the area. Look for a pot sitting in the corner and destroy it to get the crystal.
Secret Crystal Location 9
You can get the ninth Secret Crystal after earning the Swim Scarf in the Flooded Grove dungeon.
Leave the Flooded Grove and use the stairs near the dungeon entrance to enter the water. Swim up and to the right until you find a cave with a bird sitting next to it.
Enter the cave to find Tablet 4 and the ninth Secret Crystal inside a pot.
Secret Crystal Location 10
The tenth Secret Crystal is inside the ice dungeon.
Progress through the dungeon until you reach a floating platform with several statues above it. Destroy the statues and the nearby pot to reveal this Secret Crystal.
Secret Crystal Location 11
After getting the bombs in the Frozen Crypt dungeon, return to the Seaside Ruins dungeon.
There is a boulder to the right of the dungeon that you can destroy with bombs. Blow it up, then go up the stairs to reach the next screen.
You’ll enter a cemetery with two floating ghosts. Defeat them, then look for a plant near the lower-left part of the screen. Destroy the bush and jump across to collect the eleventh Secret Crystal.
Secret Crystal Location 12
The final Secret Crystal is inside Cinder Summit.
Progress through the dungeon until you reach an area with spinning fire on the left and a moving white path above you. Look for a pot in the corner near the spinning fire. Destroy it to find the twelfth Secret Crystal.
Where to Turn in Secret Crystals in Echo Isle
You can turn in Secret Crystals at the waterfall with the rainbow next to the cave where you get the Traveler’s Sword.
Return to the cave area, then look for the nearby waterfall marked by the rainbow. This is where you can use your Secret Crystals to upgrade your sword.
