Does ARC Raiders Have a PvE-Only Mode?

ARC Raiders has plenty of machine-fighting, but Topside is never completely safe.

ARC Raiders has a lot of PvE built into its extraction loop, especially when you are fighting ARC machines, looting, crafting, and trying to survive long enough to extract. That makes the PvE-only question understandable, especially if you want the tension without getting railed by another Raider near the elevator.

Does ARC Raiders Have a PvE-Only Mode?

No, ARC Raiders does not have a PvE-only mode. There are no PvE-only lobbies or servers where other Raiders are removed from the match.

ARC Raiders is built as a PvPvE extraction game. That means you are dealing with both ARC machines and other players while you are Topside. You can choose to avoid fights, play more carefully, or team up with strangers when the moment feels right, but the game does not give you a fully safe version of the surface.

Embark has been clear about this in its matchmaking notes. The system can place you with players closer to your general playstyle over time, but it does not guarantee friendly lobbies. You may still run into players who attack, betray, chase, or third-party you while you are busy fighting machines.

Rude? Yes. Part of the game? Also yes.

Can You Play ARC Raiders Like a PvE Game?

You can play ARC Raiders with a PvE-first mindset, but you still have to treat every run like PvP could happen.

The safest approach is to focus on ARC encounters, avoid loud fights when possible, listen for other players, and leave before the map gets too hot. Some Raiders are friendly or neutral, and certain events may push players toward fighting machines instead of each other. That still does not make the mode PvE-only.

If you are trying to minimize PvP, your best bet is to move carefully, avoid obvious loot hotspots, extract early when your bag is worth keeping, and do not assume another player is friendly just because they hesitate for half a second. That half-second is where extraction shooters do their little villain origin story.

Does Matchmaking Put PvE Players Together?

ARC Raiders uses playstyle-based matchmaking, but it is not a hard split between friendly players and aggressive players.

Embark describes player behavior as a scale. Some Raiders are more cooperative, some lean heavily into PvP, and many sit somewhere between the two. Over time, your behavior can affect the types of players you are more likely to meet, but it does not lock you into one kind of lobby.

That means playing peacefully may help shape your matches, but it will not protect you from every ambush. There is always risk Topside.

Will ARC Raiders Add a PvE-Only Mode Later?

Right now, Embark has not announced a PvE-only mode for ARC Raiders. The game has received PvE-focused events and adjustments, but those are still part of the shared extraction experience rather than a separate safe playlist.

If Embark ever announces a true PvE mode, that would be a major change worth watching. For now, ARC Raiders remains a PvPvE extraction game where the machines are dangerous, the players are worse, and trusting random strangers is still a high-risk hobby.
