All Directive 8020 Episode 1 secret locations can be easy to miss if you move through rooms too quickly. This guide tracks each secret in story order, including the category it appears under in the secrets menu, so you can clean up anything you skipped without digging through every corner again.
All Secret Locations in Episode 1 of Directive 8020
Each entry below lists the secret name first, followed by its secret category in parenthesis. The category is the menu section where the secret appears after you unlock it. This should make it easier to track down a specific missing secret without guessing which collectible group it belongs to.
Crew Quarters
There are eight secrets and one Simms Recording in the Crew Quarters section of Episode 1.
1 – Stalemate (Sleep Crew Secret)
After you take control of Tomas Carter following the first cutscene, look around the room before moving on. Interact with the chessboard to unlock the Stalemate secret.
2 – Countdown (Cetus Mission)
From the chessboard, move forward and slightly to the right. Look for a calendar with a fox hanging on the wall, then interact with it to unlock the Countdown secret.
3 – Night Shift (Sleep Crew)
Turn around from the calendar and look for the open doors leading into the sleeping quarters. Head inside and check the desk with the computer monitor. Interact with the data pad sitting to the left of the monitor to unlock the Night Shift secret.
1 – The Simms Recording (Green Tea)
Turn around from the Night Shift secret and look for a monitor with a camera icon near the doorway you used to enter the sleeping quarters. Play the video to unlock the first Simms Recording, Green Tea.
4 – Balance (Sleep Crew)
Exit the sleeping quarters and head across the hall to the room on the opposite side. Look to your left for a bonsai tree sitting on a desk. Interact with it to unlock the Balance secret.
5 – Daddy in Space (Sleep Crew)
In the same room as the Balance secret, look for the bed. You will find another data pad sitting on it. Interact with the data pad to unlock the Daddy in Space secret.
6 – Mission Summary (Cetus Mission)
Exit the room and move toward the exit where Simms is standing. Go up the stairs, turn left, and keep going until you reach a door. Check the poster to the left of the door and interact with it to unlock the Mission Summary secret.
7 – Pioneers (Cetus Mission)
While facing the Mission Summary poster, turn left. Grab the Utility Strap from the bed, then complete the tutorial steps. After that, look for the diamond icon to the right of the monitor. Use it to play the video and unlock the Pioneers secret.
8 – Myths Retold (Cassiopeia)
Turn right from the Pioneers secret and head through the doors into the bathroom. Turn left and look for the book sitting between the two sinks. Interact with it to unlock the Myths Retold secret.
Medical
There are two secrets and one Simms Recording in the Medical section of Episode 1. You can collect these secrets whether you have the Oracle reboot the system or not. However, if you are trying to save all crew members, choose the reboot option.
1 – Brave New World (Cetus Mission)
After completing the QTE to help Simms open the doors to the Medical reception area, head straight and look to your left. Interact with the poster on the wall to unlock the Brave New World secret.
2 – The Goldilocks Planet (Cetus Mission)
Use your scanner to follow the power cable from the Medical reception door and end the lockdown. After the lockdown is cleared, return to the Medical reception area.
Before going through the main door, look through the window to the right. Use your Utility Strap to unlock the nearby doors. They will turn green once they are unlocked.
Go through the doors to the left of the window, then hug the right wall until you reach the doors you just unlocked. Inside, check the desk for a data pad. Interact with it to unlock The Goldilocks Planet secret.
1 – The Simms Recording (Patches)
Leave the room and head back outside. Go up the stairs and look for another monitor with a camera icon. Watch the video to unlock the Patches Simms Recording.
