The Shield of Emptiness appears to give Imu another way to neutralize direct attacks.

Chapter 1191 already showed that Imu can survive tremendous damage. Now Chapter 1192 adds a defense capable of stopping Luffy before the attack even reaches Imu.
Gaban sees the situation and again urges everyone to retreat.

Luffy’s Gear 5 attacks have produced strange physical effects on opponents before.
However, the early spoilers specifically call attention to Imu’s stomach stretching after Dawn Thor Bullet connects.
It could simply reflect Luffy transferring his rubber-like properties through the attack.
It could also reveal something unusual about Imu.
Until clearer raws or the official chapter explain the panel, I would avoid treating it as a new Imu ability.
Is Imu Defeated?
Nothing in the current spoilers confirms Imu’s defeat.
Dawn Thor Bullet gets through the Shield of Emptiness and lands cleanly.
That is important.
Still, previous chapters have repeatedly shown that damaging Imu and permanently stopping Imu are two different problems.
Gaban’s warnings remain relevant even after Luffy finds a way through the shield.
