Fallout 76 Burning Springs Release Date

Bethesda locks in December 2 for Fallout 76’s massive Burning Springs Ohio expansion

Bethesda has locked in the official Fallout 76 Burning Springs Release Date. The update launches on December 2, 2025 as a free download for all current players. It arrives alongside Season 23: Blood x Rust. That means a new scoreboard on top of the fresh map content. The rollout also lines up with season 2 of the Fallout TV series. That timing should bring a wave of returning and brand new players.

New Burning Springs Ohio Region

Fo76 Burning Springs is a full new region that sits northwest of the original map. You reach it by crossing the Silver Bridge near Point Pleasant into the charred remains of post-nuclear Ohio. The area adds more than twenty new locations. Highlights include the outlaw hub of Highway Town and the shores of Tycoon Lake. You also get Jackson’s Junkyard and the rusted stronghold known as the Rust Kingdom. Sandstorms, long highways, and burned-out farmsteads give this slice of Fallout 76 a gritty desert vibe. It still connects cleanly back into the rest of Appalachia.

Bounty Hunting with The Ghoul

Once you arrive in Burning Springs, the big new system is bounty hunting. At the Last Resort bar in Highway Town, you can meet The Ghoul from the Amazon TV series. He is voiced in game by Walton Goggins. He hands out repeatable bounty missions that send you across Ohio and the older regions. Easier Grunt Hunts are good for solo players. Tougher Head Hunts play out as server wide events with nastier targets. Both types chew through your caps. The rewards include legendary mods, rare loot, and a chance at The Ghoul’s brutal hand cannon.

Story, Events, and Rewards

Fo76 Burning Springs also comes with a full story arc. The new main quest puts you up against the Rust King, an intelligent super mutant warlord. He runs a deadly arena at the heart of his raider empire. New public events like Sinkhole Solutions near Tycoon Lake and Gearin’ Up at Jackson’s Junkyard add group challenges. They come with unique rewards and new camp plans. You will fight armored deathclaws, radscorpions, and other mutated creatures, along with new foes such as radhogs. Expect fresh weapons, legendary mods, cosmetics, and more ways to tweak your builds.

Get Ready for December 2

With the Fallout 76 Burning Springs Release Date set for December 2, you still have time to get ready. Clean up your stash, tune your favorite builds, and clear any lingering quests before you head to Ohio. The update drops for all platforms on the same day, alongside the new season. Keep an eye on our Fallout 76 hub for full patch notes and bounty hunter build guides. We will also have tips for surviving the Rust King’s arena once Burning Springs goes live.
