Top 5 Most-Wishlisted October 2026 Video Game Releases

October’s release calendar is packed, but a few games are drawing more attention than the rest. These are the five most-wishlisted October 2026 releases on our radar, from long-awaited sequels to new adventures trying to steal a chunk of your free time.

5. Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve

Release date: Oct. 2
Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve puts players back in the cockpit for a story campaign and a separate online mode. The online side has its own progression, cooperative missions and competitive battles.

• Why You Should Be Excited: You can come for the campaign’s aerial combat and still have missions to tackle with other pilots afterward. The online mode gives the game a second flight plan beyond its story.
• Why Nux Game Guides Is Excited: We’re excited for the aerial action, but the campaign is what we’re most curious about. We want to see how its missions build on the dogfights and carry us through the story.

4. AION 2

Release date: Oct. 5
Platform: PC

AION 2 promises more than 200 dungeons spanning solo, party and larger group play. Its plans also include seasonal challenges, competitive rankings and open-world events.

• Why You Should Be Excited: That range gives you options for a quick solo run or a bigger group session. Challenges and rankings could give dedicated players reasons to return after their first trip through a dungeon.
• Why Nux Game Guides Is Excited: More than 200 dungeons caught our attention, especially with solo, party and group options. We’re keen to see how the challenges, rankings and open-world events fit around that huge dungeon list.

3. over the hill

Release date: Oct. 14
Platform: PC

over the hill turns off-road driving into a cooperative outing. You can explore with friends, tackle rough terrain and use equipment such as winches and planks when the route stops cooperating.

• Why You Should Be Excited: The drive is part of the challenge. Finding a way across difficult ground together could be just as satisfying as reaching the destination.
• Why Nux Game Guides Is Excited: We’re looking forward to cruising with friends and completing the challenges along the way. We also suspect someone will suggest a muddy shortcut and immediately regret volunteering to drive.

2. Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

Release date: Oct. 9
Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC; Switch 2 debut with the base game

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expands the adventure with the new region of Norgan and 12 dungeons. It also adds character creation options, including more hairstyles and tattoos. On PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, Dark Arisen is an expansion; the Switch 2 release includes the base game.

• Why You Should Be Excited: Returning players get a new area to explore, while the Switch 2 release offers a way into the base adventure and its expansion together. The added customization gives anyone starting a new character more to work with.
• Why Nux Game Guides Is Excited: We’re interested in how the enhanced gameplay and new content change the adventure. The improved Character Creator is another draw; making an Arisen can become its own little quest.

1. Phantom Blade Zero

Release date: Oct. 28
Platforms: PS5, PC

Phantom Blade Zero follows Soul, an assassin with 66 days to live, through a dark world shaped by wuxia cinema. Its combat presentation draws on motion capture and martial arts choreography.

• Why You Should Be Excited: Soul’s limited time gives the story an immediate hook, while the weapons and choreographed fights make each encounter worth watching closely. The premise has room for mystery as well as spectacle.
• Why Nux Game Guides Is Excited: The premise has us hooked, but we are especially excited to see how the motion capture and wuxia film choreography translate into combat across a full adventure.
