Chapter 220 continues Natsu’s fight against Ignia.
Natsu keeps himself powered up by consuming more fire, but Ignia responds by surrounding him with a flame tornado that Natsu cannot simply eat.
Natsu manages to make the flames disappear and goes back on the attack.
More importantly, he finally asks Ignia the question that has been hanging over the battle.
What does Ignia actually want?
Ignia Reveals His Plan for the Fire God Sun
Ignia finally gives Natsu a clearer answer.
He intends to use the Fire God Sun to burn everything away.
That includes more than his enemies.
Ignia is apparently willing to destroy even former allies as part of his plan.
Natsu immediately understands how serious that makes the situation and warns Happy to get away.
The threat is no longer limited to Natsu winning or losing his duel with Ignia.
If Ignia succeeds, everyone around the battlefield could become collateral damage.
Merudy Joins the Fight
Elsewhere, Erik and Sawyer also begin realizing what Ignia intends to do.
They are joined by Merudy.
