Boruto Chapter 36 Recap
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 36, titled “Parental Love,” follows several plans unfolding across Konoha.
Amado asks Kawaki to capture Kashin Koji. He claims the request will not interfere with Kawaki’s goal of destroying the Divine Trees.
Amado remains focused on reviving his daughter, Akebi. Kawaki’s Karma contains the genetic information and memories needed for Amado’s plan, but Kawaki has not placed Karma onto the cloned body prepared for her.
Amado believes Koji’s ability to see possible futures can tell him whether Akebi will ever return.
Kobu Tries to Remove Shikamaru as Hokage
Kobu continues investigating Boruto’s presence inside Konoha.
He remembers waking on the roof of the Hokage’s office while Divine Trees surrounded him. Boruto appeared and destroyed the attackers before escaping.
Kobu does not accept that Boruto simply saved him.
He suspects the attack was arranged to interrupt his interrogation and protect Shikamaru’s secret cooperation with Boruto. Sai warns him against making unsupported accusations, but Kobu has already contacted the Land of Fire’s daimyo.
Kobu intends to gather enough evidence to remove Shikamaru from the Hokage position.
The political threat could become more dangerous in Chapter 37. Shikamaru has concealed Boruto’s innocence, his contact with Kashin Koji, and several operations carried out without the elders’ approval.
Amado Captures Kashin Koji
Konoha’s sensory team detects someone with a chakra signature matching Jiraiya.
Shikamaru realizes the person must be Kashin Koji and orders the sensory team to locate him quietly. By then, Amado has already captured Koji.
Koji wakes in Amado’s laboratory wearing restraints that prevent him from using his jutsu or controlling his frogs.
Amado explains that he understands how Koji’s future-seeing shinjutsu works.
The ability, known as Prescience or Ten Paths, does not provide constant knowledge. Koji receives compulsory updates containing possible futures, but those updates arrive at irregular intervals.
That creates a weakness. Someone can change the future between updates without Koji immediately knowing what happened.
Amado Forces Koji’s Ability to Update
Amado admits that he altered Koji’s brain activity while Koji was unconscious.
He used ultrasound in an attempt to shorten the delay between future updates. Koji is suspicious, but Amado quickly reveals why he interfered with the ability.
He asks whether Koji has ever seen Kawaki place Karma onto Akebi’s cloned body.
Koji says he has not.
Jura appears in every possible future Koji has witnessed. In most of those timelines, Jura kills Kawaki before Amado can revive Akebi.
Amado thanks Koji for his answer. He then waits to see whether their conversation and his experiment create a new future.
Koji Sees Several Possible Futures
After escaping Amado’s laboratory, Koji returns to Boruto’s hideout and contacts Shikamaru, Eida, and Inojin.
He asks Eida to examine what Amado did to him with the Senrigan. Before he can finish explaining, Koji collapses and receives another Prescience update.
The update arrives much sooner than normal, suggesting Amado’s experiment worked.
Koji sees fragments from several possible futures, including:
- Boruto activating Karma
- Borushiki with a complete horn
- Kawaki using Karma
- Sarada activating her Mangekyo Sharingan
- Hidari reaching toward Sarada
- Himawari, Sumire, Moegi, and Konohamaru
- Kobu standing near the Hokage’s cloak
- Jura interacting with Shikamaru
These visions are possibilities rather than guaranteed events. The decisions made by Boruto, Koji, and the others can still move the story toward a different path.
Code Discovers Boruto and Sarada’s Plan
Boruto planned to use Sarada as bait.
Code had left Claw Marks around Konoha during the Mamushi attack. Boruto expected him to capture Sarada and transport her to the Divine Tree hideout.
Sarada carried markers containing Boruto’s chakra. After Code moved her, Boruto planned to teleport to the markers and enter the hideout.
Code recognizes the trap.
He detects Boruto’s chakra coming from Sarada and discovers the markers before transporting her. He removes them with his mechanical hand and leaves them behind.
Koji sees the failed plan during his future update.
He tells Boruto not to teleport, but Boruto leaves before hearing the complete warning. Chapter 36 ends with Boruto arriving at Sarada’s previous location after Code has already moved her.
What Could Happen in Boruto Chapter 37?
Boruto Chapter 37 should reveal the immediate consequences of Code exposing the trap.
Boruto may now be separated from Sarada with no reliable way to follow her into the hideout. Code could use that advantage to force Boruto into another exchange or make him reveal more about Flying Raijin.
Sarada’s situation is also unclear.
Code wanted to capture her because of her connection to Hidari. However, Hidari has shown signs of developing feelings and instincts connected to Sasuke. That could create tension between Hidari, Code, and Jura once Sarada reaches the Divine Trees.
Koji’s new visions also suggest Boruto may activate Karma soon. Boruto has avoided using its full power because doing so creates another opportunity for Momoshiki to take control.
Seeing Borushiki with a restored horn may mean Boruto’s decision to ignore Koji leads toward one of the futures Koji feared.
Will Momoshiki Return in Chapter 37?
Momoshiki’s return is possible, but it has not been confirmed.
Koji sees a future image of Borushiki with a complete horn. The vision proves that such an outcome remains possible, not that it will happen in the next chapter.
Boruto may activate Karma while trying to reach Sarada or fight Code. If he becomes emotionally unstable, Momoshiki could have another chance to take control.
The danger is greater because Boruto ignored a direct warning from Koji. His decision may have moved events closer to the Borushiki future.
Could Hidari Protect Sarada?
Hidari’s connection to Sarada remains one of the most important uncertainties surrounding her capture.
As a Divine Tree created from Sasuke, Hidari possesses his appearance, techniques, and part of his instinctive attachment to Sarada. He has struggled to understand why she affects him differently from other targets.
Koji’s vision shows Hidari reaching toward Sarada.
That could represent an attack, an attempt to consume her, or a moment when Sasuke’s remaining influence causes Hidari to protect her. The brief image does not establish which outcome is correct.
Chapter 37 could move that relationship forward once Sarada reaches the hideout.
Where to Read Boruto Chapter 37

Final Thoughts
Boruto Chapter 37 does not have confirmed spoilers or a release date yet, but Chapter 36 leaves Boruto’s plan in pieces.
Code detected the markers hidden on Sarada and removed them before taking her. Koji saw the failure and tried to stop Boruto from teleporting, but the warning arrived too late.
Sarada may now be inside the Divine Tree hideout while Boruto has no direct way to follow her.
The next chapter could also begin moving toward Koji’s darker visions, including Borushiki’s return, Hidari’s encounter with Sarada, and Kobu’s attempt to remove Shikamaru as Hokage.
