In Skyline Valley, you will run into Craig early on while working through the region’s questline. He asks you to track down three missing settlers and mark each spot with a flare. The game points you toward the bodies, but it does not clearly flag the personal effects you need to gather for Craig. That makes this objective annoying in the valley’s gloomy terrain. How to Gather Personal Effects for Craig in Fallout 76

Each “personal effect” sits near the related settler’s remains, but not always right on top of the objective marker. In other words, you often need to move a few steps in the correct direction before the pickup becomes obvious (or before a proximity marker appears).

Where to Find Miles’s Personal Effects

Miles is the first settler most players find, at Makeout Point.

• Go to the quest search area and locate Miles’s body at the overlook.
• Then, look down off the cliff edge near him. His personal item is Miles’s hat (often described as a cowboy hat).
  • You can spot it on the lower ledge directly below, close to where he fell. If you stand at the railing or edge and angle the camera downward, it should be visible.

Where to Find Rob’s Personal Effects

After Miles, the next marker leads you toward a mountain tunnel area.

• Rob’s body is near the entrance side of the tunnel zone.
• His personal item is Rob’s journal, and it is not on the body.
• Instead, go partway into the tunnel and check the ground near a lit area and signage.
  • You are looking for Rob’s journal placed near a board or an SOS-style sign inside the tunnel.

Tip: If you are close but cannot see it, walk deeper in and sweep your cursor along the floor edges. The journal sits low and can blend into the tunnel clutter.

Where to Find Rebecca’s Personal Effects

Rebecca’s spot sits at the approach to Dark Hollow Manor.

• The flare location is a large pool of blood near the manor gate area.
• Her personal item is Rebecca’s holotags.
• To find them, face the stone gate entrance and look for a corpse slumped against one of the stone columns.
  • Her holotags sit on the ground beside the corpse’s right hand.

Once you have Miles’s hat, Rob’s journal, and Rebecca’s holotags, return to Craig to turn them in and clear the objective for extra rewards.
