One Piece Chapter 1170 Spoilers, Release Timeline, and Recap

Here’s what the leaks claim, what happened last chapter, and exactly when the official Chapter 1170 release goes live.

One Piece Chapter 1170 is shaping up to be a major turning point in the Elbaf storyline, with Loki, Harald, and the so-called legendary Devil Fruit all colliding at the worst possible time. If you want to go into the chapter fully prepared, we’ve got you covered below with a quick Chapter 1169 recap to refresh your memory, followed by a spoiler breakdown based on early leaks so you can see what’s coming before the official release hits.

One Piece Chapter 1169 Recap

Chapter 1169 splits its focus between Shanks and Gaban, and the chaos unfolding in Elbaf’s castle. Over at Gaban’s place, he tells Shanks something wild he learned from Garp: Roger had a son. Shanks takes it in with a grin, treating the idea like he just found out he has a little brother, and Gaban matches the vibe by talking about Shanks and Buggy like they were Roger’s kids too.

Back in Aurust Castle, Harald starts slipping as Imu’s influence forces his body to act against his will. Terrified of becoming the thing that destroys Elbaf, he begs his own guards to kill him, but it turns into a nightmare when they realize he cannot die and his wounds keep closing up.

Loki and Jarul arrive as Harald’s condition spirals, and Harald desperately tries to push Loki toward Elbaf’s sacred Devil Fruit, insisting it is the only way to stop him. As Harald’s mind gets overtaken, he lashes out at everyone around him, even injuring Jarul, until Shanks and Gaban step in to halt the massacre and figure out how to deal with someone being controlled and seemingly immortal.

The chapter ends with Loki reaching the Devil Fruit chest, only for Ragnir to move on its own and attack him right before he can claim it.

One Piece Chapter 1170 Spoilers

Chapter 1170, titled Opposite, keeps the spotlight on Loki’s war inside Aurust Castle and the “legendary” Devil Fruit at the center of it all. The chapter continues Loki’s clash with Ragnir, with Harald claiming nobody has ever eaten the Fruit because Ragnir has essentially served as its guardian the whole time.

Elsewhere, Gaban drops a major explanation about fighting enemies who recover unnaturally fast. His approach is simple but brutal: layer Conqueror’s Haki into your attacks to make the damage actually stick, causing real pain and slowing their regeneration. Then you keep hitting them, over and over, until they can no longer keep standing. He implies he understands this kind of fight because the Holy Knights have attempted to take Shanks in the past, and Roger’s crew stopped them every time.

Back to Loki and Ragnir, the fight looks like it has drained both sides. Loki’s hammer is wrecked, and Ragnir shifts into a small squirrel-like form that completely changes the vibe. Instead of continuing to resist, the squirrel appears to accept Loki, opens the chest, and Loki eats the Devil Fruit. The transformation is teased, not fully shown, with only a silhouette and clawed hands highlighted.

The story then swings into the most emotional part of the chapter: Loki and Harald’s final exchange. Most of their battle is implied to have happened off-panel, but Harald briefly regains clarity and recognizes Loki’s Conqueror nature. He admits it was not just simple mind control, it was more like his thinking was being bent until he started believing he was something divine. Harald tells Loki to lead Elbaph with dignity and to stand alongside his older brother.

Loki is furious, calling out how twisted it is to make your own child be the one to end you. The conversation takes an even sharper turn when Harald thanks Loki for what happened involving Ida, which shocks Loki and ties back to Loki’s actions against the Brewer’s Village. Harald acknowledges that nothing can undo the loss, but says he understands the feeling behind it. Then he warns that whatever influence is consuming him is about to surge again, and urges Loki to act immediately.

The “Opposite” theme comes through in how the exchange lands. Loki spits anger and resentment, but Harald seems to receive it as the kind of love that is hidden inside those words, and answers with a direct “I love you” in return.

Then the finishing move hits. Loki coats Ragnir with Conqueror’s Haki and drives the strike into Harald, with massive lightning crashing down on the castle in the process. The impact is described as catastrophic, ripping through Harald’s torso and effectively erasing the middle of his body. A brief memory flashes of Harald calling out to Loki and insisting that Elbaph’s future is what matters most.

One added clarification from leak chatter is that Harald may have intentionally allowed the ending by not defending himself properly in that final moment, not counterattacking and not reinforcing himself with Conqueror’s Haki, giving Loki the opening to finish it.

The leaks also claim there is no break after Chapter 1170.
