One Piece Chapter 1175 is on the horizon, and after the insanity in Chapter 1174, Elbaph feels like it is seconds away from turning into a full-scale disaster movie. Between Sommers going mask-off, the kids being forced toward a fatal drop, and the sudden arrival of a colossal “save” that changes the entire battlefield, there is a lot to unpack before the next chapter lands. One Piece Chapter 1174 Recap
Chapter 1174 is titled “The Strongest Thing in the World,” and the cover request shows Roger casually feeding meat to a T-Rex that is wearing Roger’s Jolly Roger hat.
The chapter picks up right after the ship meant to transport the kidnapped kids gets destroyed, leaving a massive hole in the sea clouds and wiping out the original escape plan. Even worse, the giant children keep walking toward the dock anyway because Gunko’s arrow ability is still forcing them forward, and Sommers cannot stop it.
That is when Sommers fully flips. He turns grotesquely excited, basically treating the children’s impending fall as a “divine” way to kill them, and he rants about how the panic, tears, and parents calling for their kids are the real “emotion” he wants to savor. He tells the children the plan has changed, and now their “accident” will be falling to their deaths.
Colon breaks down, promising he will behave, and the chapter flashes back to smaller moments of parents scolding their kids, including Colon winning a duel and keeping a toy that resembles Emeth, with Ripley reminding him that being stronger means he should be kinder. As Colon reaches the edge, Ripley appears and hugs him despite the thorny danger, and then the chapter hits a brutal double-page of relatives (including Oimo, Ange, and Road) clutching the kids as they all fall together toward the Underworld.
Before it becomes a tragedy, Elbaph starts shaking and something colossal appears. Giant Gear 5 Luffy shows up alongside a massive dragon: Loki, transformed. The falling kids and their families land on the dragon’s back, saved at the last second. Loki’s dragon form is described as a black western-style dragon, and the island immediately erupts into a snow-and-lightning storm tied to Loki’s Devil Fruit powers (the fruit name is not revealed).
Loki gets everyone to safety and then starts tearing through the MMA monsters while the drums of liberation echo across Elbaph. Giants react to the rhythm, Sommers is furious, and Imu, through Gunko, silently watches it unfold. The chapter ends on a huge image of dragon Loki wrecking monsters while Luffy rides on his head with squirrel Ragnir, with Jarul framing it as a legendary moment where the drums sound and the Sun God descends. The chapter ends with a break the following week.

Chapter 1,175: “Nidhogg” (“ニーズホッグ” in Japanese, kanjis (雷竜) mean “Thunder Dragon”).
– Reader request in the cover: “Sabo being surrounded by baby koalas”. Koala is having tea and eucalyptus leaves with an adult koala while Sabo looks after baby koalas.
– Chapter starts with Sanji releasing Robin from Sommers’ vines with “Diable Jambe” (he kicks and destroys the vines). Loki and Luffy (that still wears his original clothes, not Oda’s mistake in last chapter) take the children and their relatives to the Western Village near where Jarul is.
– Sommers is furious because the plan has gone awry, so he decides to shoot thorns to the children relatives (who are still very injured from trying to save the children a little while earlier). But the children decide to line up in front of their relatives to stop the thorns.
Ripley: “Please, Colon!! Run!!”
Colon: “I won’t!! I will protect you, mommy!!!”
– Fortunately Zoro arrives just in time and blocks all the thorns.
Luffy: “Good job Zoro!! I knew I can trust you!! Hahaha!!”
Zoro: “Figured that’s what you had in mind, now do it!!”
Sommers: “What the hell!? Who is that!!!”
Luffy: “He’s from my crew, and his name is Zoro!! Don’t you forget that!!”
– Luffy grabs with his left hand a lightning bolt from a cloud and uses his right hand as a telescopic sight to keep his eyes on Sommers. Then Luffy attacks Sommers with a new technique.
Luffy: “Gomu Gomu no Dawn Thor Rifle!!!” (“白い雷回転弾” in Japanese, kanjis mean “White Thunder Rotating Bullet”)
– In a FUCKING EPIC double page, Luffy’s giant punch hits savagely Sommers’ body and electrocutes him at the same time. The attack is so powerful that Sommers’ body breaks into pieces (we see how Sommers loses his teeth as his face splits into several parts).
– But Sommers’ suffering does not end here… In another AMAZING double page, Loki stomped on Sommers loool
– Then, in a little flashback, Jarul remembers what happened when Loki left the “Aurust Castle” after he killed Harald. Jarul explained what’s the fruit Loki ate to Gaban and Shanks.
Jarul: “Loki ate “Ryu Ryu no Mi” (Dragon Dragon Fruit) mythical type model “Nidhogg”!!
Whoever eats it will obtain the form of the world’s largest dragon…
However, the limit to how large one can get wielding its power is dependent on the user’s original size…
And so, compare to a “Human” a “Giant” can draw out more of the fruit’s potential…
And an “Ancient Giant” can draw out even more than a “Giant”.
At its largest, this thunder breathing pitch black dragon is said to be able to turn day into night when it takes flight.”
Shanks: “So you guys decided to forbid anyone from eating it, due to how dangerous the power is?”
Jarul: “…No, that is not it. If one attempts to eat it, the guarding hammer “Ragnir” will interfere!!
In Elbaph, we have a legend regarding a warring deity, who is said to wield the weapon “Ragnir”.
They say he turned into a gigantic dragon and WENT AGAINST the “Sun God”…!!
And beside him was his trusted servant, Ratatoskr the “Ice Squirrel”.
When the warring deity died, Ratatoskr’s spirit passed into his master’s hammer.
And ever since, “Ragnir” has protected that Akuma no Mi until someone powerful enough could inherit it!!”
– Back to the present, Loki is focussed now in the MMA monsters. In the ABSOLUTELY EPIC final double page of the chapter, Loki shoots a MASSIVE lightning attack from his mouth called “Thor Heim” (雷界 in Japanese, kanji mean “Thunder World”). The attack creates a HUGE explosion with normal and black lightnings, and destroys most of the MMA monsters.
– Chapter ends with Imu/Gunko looking at Loki, Luffy and Ragnir as MMA monsters are vanishing. Then there is a change of scene to Mary Geoise. Real Imu is standing in the “Room of Flowers” and we see Imu’s furious eyes in last panel of the chapter…
Imu: “I see… Nidhogg… That’s where thou have been all this time!!!”
