Wizard101 is Coming to Nintendo Switch

Wizard101 is coming to Nintendo Switch with a $19.99 package that includes the full first story arc, letting more players jump into The Spiral.

KingsIsle Entertainment is bringing Wizard101 to Nintendo Switch. The long-running magic school MMO lands on Nintendo hardware soon, which opens the doors for a new wave of players to jump into The Spiral. If you grew up on Wizard101, this is also an easy excuse to revisit Ravenwood with a fresh platform in hand.

Price and What You Get on Switch

Wizard101 will cost $19.99 on Nintendo Switch. That purchase includes full access to the first story arc (out of five total arcs). After you finish that arc, you can unlock more worlds and quests by buying Crowns, the game’s premium currency. In other words, the Switch version gives you a big starter chunk up front, then lets you expand as you go.

How Accounts and Servers Work

Switch accounts will play on the same server as other console players. That means Switch players will share the console community with PlayStation and Xbox users. However, cross-progression is not available right now. So you cannot move your progress between platforms once you start on Switch.

Wizard101 is Already on PlayStation and Xbox

Wizard101 also sits on Xbox and PlayStation. Those versions offer a free download. They also include free-to-play content up through the Oasis area in Krokotopia. After that, players can keep going by unlocking more content through purchases.

What Wizard101 is for Newcomers

Wizard101 puts you in the role of a student at the Ravenwood School of Magical Arts. You fight using turn-based card battles, and your deck choices matter in every encounter. You can tweak your loadout before fights, which makes combat feel more like strategy than button-mashing.

You can also team up with friends for tougher fights, trade useful cards, and chase weekly events that rotate rewards. Outside of combat, the game offers plenty of side content. You can hatch and train pets, craft gear, garden for rewards, fish for rare finds, and decorate your home with castle items.
