In The Outer Worlds 2, you can collect pets to roam your ship and boost your crew’s morale. While some pets are tied to specific events or planets, others are unlocked through dialogue, exploration, or perks. If you purchased the Premium Edition, you’ll automatically receive one pet. If not, your first opportunity to adopt a ship pet comes early in the game, on Paradise Isle.
How to Get Lucy the Crabble in The Outer Worlds 2

Lucy the Crabble is the first pet you can adopt, but she’s easy to miss. You’ll find her on Paradise Isle, though her location is tucked away behind a side objective linked to Inez’s graft quest. To reach her, head to the southern region of the map where you’ll find the Crabble Farm (fast travel point with a blue circle).

Once there, speak to Crabble Rancher Casey. He’ll explain that Lucy got sick after eating a box of Purpleberry Krunch. To help Lucy recover, you must choose one of the following options:
- Medical: Level 5
- Trait: Dumb plus Purpleberry Krunch x1
- Item: Trauma Kit x1

Once you successfully treat her, Lucy will get back on her feet. You’ll then be given the prompt to “Accept Lucy as a pet.” Confirm, and she’ll be sent straight to your ship.
How to Equip Pets in The Outer Worlds 2

To make Lucy (or any pet) visible on your ship, you’ll need to equip her using the pet station. Head to your ship’s main room, the one with the workbench, and look for the pet bed and feeder nearby.
Interact with the feeder to open the pet management menu. Select Lucy to assign her to your ship. Once equipped, she’ll begin roaming the area, and yes, you can pet her.
