Hell Clock 1.1 Crafting Update Adds Clockmaker’s Tools and Deepens Relic Customization

The Hell Clock 1.1 Crafting Update is set to launch on September 29, introducing a long-awaited feature that aims to balance randomness with player agency. At its core is the new Clockmaker’s Tools system, giving players a fun and functional way to shape their Relics without losing the excitement of loot drops.

Crafting in ARPGs is always a tricky balance. Too much RNG can feel punishing. Too little, and you lose the joy of finding something rare. The Hell Clock 1.1 Crafting Update strikes a middle ground that keeps loot meaningful while letting you chase builds more intentionally. It’s less rigid than Last Epoch’s crafting, but not as chaotic as early Path of Exile 2.

Players will begin finding crafting Tools in Act 1, with drop frequency scaling up as they progress. Tools can drop fully formed or as Fragments that combine into usable items. Everything happens in your Reliquary—click the Tool, then click the Relic. There are nine types in total, from basic Enhancement Tools to the more advanced Divine and Corrupted Tools.

The Hell Clock crafting system expands further with Imbued Tools, which allow you to inject powerful implicit affixes tied to Fury, Faith, or Discipline paths. These affixes scale with the size of the Relic and can be reapplied until you land a perfect fit. Corruption adds another layer, offering rare implicit affixes with high risk and high reward.

Unlike traditional ARPGs, gear in Hell Clock is intentionally secondary. Relics and Constellations define your build, and the crafting update respects that design by focusing entirely on those elements.

The Hell Clock 1.1 Crafting Update also tweaks drop rarity to ensure Tools feel impactful. Expect to see Enhancement Tools often, while Divine and Corrupted drops stay rare and exciting, especially in higher World Tiers and the upcoming Endless Nightmares content.
