Should You Give the Incriminating File to the Police or a Journalist in Death on the Nile? This choice appears at the end of the prologue as you leave the club with Emmy and walk toward a Chinese restaurant. You’ll get three dialogue topics; select “Emmy’s file” where Emmy explains she has proof of financial crimes at her company, AWL and that she’s torn between two choices: hand the file to the police for a slow, law-abiding process, or give it to a journalist for immediate public pressure. This will open a fork where she asks Jane whether to go through official channels or leak the evidence for faster exposure. Read on for what each option changes and whether it matters later.
Give the Incriminating File to the Police

Jane answers: “The best thing is to give it to the police. Even if the procedure will be long, it’s the law.” After the exchange, you continue the walk with Emmy.
Give the Incriminating File to a Journalist

Jane answers: “The best thing is to give it to the press. At least the truth about AWL won’t be suppressed.” After the exchange, you continue the walk with Emmy.
Does Your Choice Matter?

No spoilers beyond the prologue setup, but here’s what you need to know: this decision does not change the Prologue. Emmy plans to call her contact to arrange pickup the next day, and events that follow are unaffected by whether you chose police or press. In short, the scene plays out the same either way.
