Is Ada Wong in Resident Evil 9?

Capcom’s marketing spotlights Leon and Grace, but fans are hunting for Ada clues. Here’s what we know so far, spoiler-light.

“Is Ada Wong in Resident Evil 9?” is one of the biggest questions floating around Resident Evil Requiem right now, and it makes sense. Anytime Leon S. Kennedy is involved, fans immediately start scanning trailers, descriptions, and interviews for even a hint of Ada. The tricky part is that Capcom has been selective with what it puts in public-facing marketing, so you need to know where to look and what counts as a real confirmation.

No, Ada Wong is not in Resident Evil 9 (Requiem).

Here’s why that is the safest answer based on what Capcom and storefronts are actually showing:

  • The official game descriptions on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam highlight the two playable protagonists, Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy, and do not name Ada.
  • PlayStation’s own deep-dive on Leon focuses on Leon and Grace’s dual-protagonist structure and never references Ada.
  • Capcom and partners have also been actively warning about story spoilers circulating ahead of launch, which makes it more likely that surprise characters (if any) would be kept out of the main marketing copy. (That last part is an inference, but the spoiler posture is real.)

The Interview Hint That Keeps the Ada Conversation Alive

Even without confirmation, Capcom has not exactly shut the door on the idea either. In a Deadline Q&A, director Kōshi Nakanishi was asked about Ada (and Claire) and replied that he’s also interested in Leon and Ada’s “private relationship,” but he “can’t comment.” That is not a yes, but it’s also not a hard no, and it explains why fans keep digging.
