Who Are the Killers in Scream 7?

Ghostface is back! Here’s how many there are, when the reveals happen, and what the killers want.

If you’re googling “who is Ghostface in Scream 7,” you’re probably doing the classic Scream math: Who had motive, who had access, and who is acting a little too normal? The movie also plays dirty with tech, rumors, and Sidney’s past, so it’s easy to second-guess yourself the whole way through.

Big spoiler warning from here on out. This guide fully explains the Scream 7 Ghostface reveals.

There are three Ghostfaces in Scream 7, and the ringleader is Sidney’s neighbor, Jessica Bowden (Anna Camp).

Ghostface 1: Karl Gibbs (Kraig Dane)

Karl Gibbs is the first Ghostface unmasked. He is revealed and taken off the board mid-movie, which keeps the mystery alive for the final act. For the first time in the franchise, a Ghostface is killed mid-movie, by being run over by Gail, Chad, and Mindy, when Karl attacks Sidney and her family at their house.

Ghostface 2: Marco Davis (Ethan Embry)

The second Ghostface is Marco Davis, an orderly at Fallbrook Psychiatric Hospital. He is also the one behind the AI deepfakes used to mess with Sidney, with the film tying that to his past as a Google security specialist with an AI background.

Jessica Bowden is the primary Ghostface and the big endgame reveal. Her motive is rooted in obsession and projection: she reads Sidney’s autobiography while trapped in an abusive marriage, interprets Sidney’s survival as a mission to destroy monsters, and kills her husband to “take her life back.”

But after the Scream 6 New York killings happen without Sidney showing up to defeat Ghostface, Jessica spirals, checks into Fallbrook, and builds a plan with Marco (and Karl) that shifts from admiration to punishment. Her ultimate goal is to force Sidney’s daughter, Tatum, into becoming a new final girl, basically a Sidney 2.0.

What Do You Think of the Reveal?

So, now that you know who the killers are in Scream 7, what do you think of the motive? It’s also exciting that the writers listened to fans by killing and revealing one of the Ghostface killers, even though it wasn’t a really well-known character at the time.
