Chapter 5 has a lot of easy-to-miss collectibles, mostly because the tomb layout loops back on itself and several mustaches hide on torches, statues, and side paths. This guide walks you through every Golden Mustache and the one Golden Vinyl in Chapter 5, in the order you can grab them, so you can clear the tomb without backtracking.
Chapter 5 Golden Mustache Locations
There are seven Golden Mustache locations in Chapter 5.
Rock Outside the Tomb Entrance
After the long cutscene, you’ll regain control at the tomb entrance. Before you go inside, turn around and head left. Keep walking past Cornelia Robson and look for a rock nearby. The first Golden Mustache is sitting right on top of it.
Torch by the Tomb Door
Now enter the tomb. Immediately look to your right at the torch near the doorway. The second Golden Mustache is attached to it.
Statue Outside on the Upper Path
From the second mustache, turn left and squeeze between the wall and the statues. You’ll spot a door on your left with stairs leading up. Take the stairs all the way to the outside area. Turn left, then count the statues on your right. The third Golden Mustache is on the front of the fourth statue.
Base of the Second Statue by the Main Entrance
Head back down the stairs and return to the main tomb entrance area. Look to the left side where the tall statues line the room. The fourth Golden Mustache sits at the base of the second statue on your left.
Back of the Torch in the Eye Symbol Room
Stand where you grabbed the fourth mustache and face across the room. Walk straight ahead between two statues to enter a smaller room. You’ll notice an eye symbol printed on paper attached to the wall. Check the torch closest to the doorway and look at its back side. The fifth Golden Mustache is attached there.
Between the Knees of the Right Statue
After grabbing the Golden Vinyl (see below), leave that side area and work your way back toward the larger statue room. Follow the beams of light until you reach a room with a pedestal and four statues. Look at the right-most statue. The sixth Golden Mustache hangs between its knees.
Mirror and Sun Beam Puzzle Mustache
The seventh Golden Mustache is locked behind a light puzzle. You’ll need to place mirrors and redirect sun beams to burn a paper marked with a mustache symbol.
Use your screenshot as a reference for mirror placement. The sun starts on the blue circle and ends on the blue square, while following the red line path. If you want the steps in plain text, follow this route:
- Go back to the first statue room where you found the fourth mustache. Turn left and place a mirror on the eye symbol on the wall.
- Turn right and place the magnifying glass on the small pedestal.
- Look for an eye symbol on the entrance to the second room on your left. Place a mirror there.
- Inside that room, place a mirror on the second eye symbol on the left wall, then the eye symbol on the right wall near the torch.
- Note the paper at the far end of the wall with the mustache symbol. That is your target.
- Exit the room and place mirrors on the two large columns across the way, both marked with eye symbols.
- Turn right, go past the pedestal with the magnifying glass, and enter the next room. Place a mirror on the eye symbol on the left wall.
- Return to the main statue room and place a mirror on the pedestal there to start directing the beams.
Once you route the beam into the mustache-symbol room and burn the target paper, you can collect the seventh Golden Mustache. This also unlocks the Shine on Crazy Moustache achievement.
Chapter 5 Golden Vinyl Location
There is only one Golden Vinyl location in Chapter 5.
Right Wall in the Second Left Room
From the room where you grabbed the fourth Golden Mustache, head across the tomb again and turn right. Enter the second room on your left. At the far end, look on the right wall near the torch. The Golden Vinyl is hanging there.
